Within the Greek language exists an extraordinarily nuanced word that describes an approach to doing things with passion and heart and is an integral element of their way of life: meraki. Representing a concept that cannot be translated into one word, its literal meaning is 'essence of ourselves'. Something done with one's soul, with creativity, with effort, and with a lot of love— essentially putting something of yourself into your work.

Within the Japanese language exists the word ki, the name given to the internal energy of the body. It is the essence, the seed, the nucleus where the meaning of life condenses. It is the Life Force that flows in every living organism, and it expresses the continuous desire to learn and grow. It is the energy that directs us to our life's purpose— seeking it, discovering it, understanding it, and implementing it.
